The soldier yelled out, "FIRE!" Sonic jumped up and spindashed through the gunfire and knocked down the soldiers. He ran to Knuckles and said, "We can't wait." He grabbed his hand and said, "Let's go." They both ran away from the soldiers. They kept on running. Sonic then heard the head soldier say, "After them! They're getting away!" He also heard their footsteps getting closer towards them. Sonic said, "Hurry, Knuckles! Run faster!" They both ran faster. Knuckles gripped Sonic's hand tighter as they ran. He thought, "Sonic, you're risking your own life to save me so I won't be in danger." Tears appeared in his eyes as he smiled and thought, "Sonic really is a good friend to me."
