We see Shadow watch in horror as Tails beats up Shadow's old friend Maria. Tails yelled out, "This is for making friends with a murderous hedgehog!" He punched her in the face hard that blood came out of her mouth. Shadow yelled out, "Stop it Tails!" He starts to run but a green vine came out of nowhere and wrapped itself around him. Cosmo also came out of nowhere and said, "Don't even think about it Lifeform. This is what you get for trying to kill me." Shadow said, "Cosmo! Tails! Stop!" Tails looked at Shadow with an evil smirk and said, "How do you like it bitch? How do you like it when somebody attacks your friend or lover for no reason?" Maria coughed up blood and weakly said, "I guess this was my fate to begin with. It's all my fault. I'm so sorry Shadow." Shadow yelled out, "MARIA!" Tails said, "Now it's time for you to die you monster!" Cosmo smiled wickedly as she said, "Destroy him, my love." Tails roared as he ran towards Shadow. Shadow screamed with tears flowing through his eyes, "MILES, NO!!!!!" Maria said, "Sayonara Ultimate Lifeform." Tails then lifted a fist and it zoomed towards Shadow's chest.

Cosmo and Tails: What's wrong, Shadow?
Shadow: Why...Why did you do that...?

Tails: What did you dream about, Shadow?
Shadow: it was terrible. Tails, you were punching Maria over and over, laughing evilly and asking how she could make friends with a monster. Then Cosmo, you came and ensared me in vines so I couldn't save her. You said that this was what I deserved for trying to kill you. Tails then asked me how I liked watching someone attack my friend for no reason. *continues to sob quietly*
Cosmo and Tails exchange looks
Cosmo: Oh, Shadow, that's awful. We would never do that.
Tails: Yeah. You're our friend. You're not a monster.
Cosmo: We would NEVER subject anyone to anything that cruel and horrific, no matter what they did to deserve it.
Tails: Shadow, we're sorry. Sorry for making you feel like a monster.
Cosmo: And we're sorry that we did that to you and Maria, even if it was just a dream.
Tails: and we hope you never, ever, EVER have that nightmare ever again.
Cosmo: because you're our friend, and we love you. Always have, always will.
Tails: and Maria's proud of you for doing the right thing. I know it.
Cosmo: And we're glad that Maria gave her life to save you, because if not for her, we'd all be history by now. Because you saved us and the world so many times.
Tails: If you weren't around, then Eggman or the Black Arms or the Metarex would have blown it to smithereens. If you weren't here, none of us would be either.
Cosmo: You're a wonderful person, Shadow. Beneath all the darkness and fear, you're just a boy lost and alone, desperate for someone to love him.
Tails: And we're willing to give you just that. Because you deserve it.
They all hug
